After a bit of thought, these are some questions that we think are amongst the most relevant to people thinking of staying at the Machhapuchhre Guesthouse. Simply click on a question in the list below and you will be taken down this page to where the answer is.

How do I get to Machhapuchhre Guesthouse?
You will arrive in Pokhara either by flying into the airport or overland by bus from Kathmandu or India or even by driving yourself in your own vehicle. If you are at the airport or bus station, simply get a taxi to take you to the guesthouse directly. The fare should be no more than 300Rs.

If you have driven to Pokhara yourself, then head for Lakeside and once there, turn toward the northern end of Lakeside (towards the mountains) and drive along Lakeside - you will see the sign for Machhapuchhre Guesthouse about 150metres past The Laughing Buddha Restaurant, on the right hand side of the road. The guesthouse itself is up a small private cul de sac, about 30metres back from the road.

How much are the rooms?
There are a range of rooms - some with two single beds, some with double beds and some family rooms with double and single beds. And so there are a range of prices. It would actually be impractical to list the prices of all rooms, as the prices do vary a little, according to time of year. However, this seasons prices start from 300Rs. per day.

Rest assured, you will be more than happy with the very reasonable prices we charge and will leave us feeling satisfied with your stay with us.

I am going trekking or paragliding or kayaking or rafting. Can you help?
Yes - to any requests of this nature.

Laxya Nepali personally has nine years experience of trekking to Everest and Annapurna base camps as well as the range of many different treks, long and short. He has first hand knowledge of each trek in the Annapurna Region which he can explain to you, so you may decide which trek is the one for you, both in terms of length and how easy or hard the going may be.

With our unique relationship with Sunrise Paragliding, the whole range of paragliding activities is easily available, from para trekking to transport to the local hill, Sarangkot.

Kayaking and rafting can be easily arranged with local companies for groups or single persons.

Who wrote this glowing website?
I did... And who am I? I am a British paraglider pilot who stayed at the Machhapuchhre Guesthouse in March 2007 and I had a really wonderful time in Pokhara, not least because of this great little guesthouse and the guy running it, Laxya.

He really is the most helpful man, helping out and arranging things in many ways...so much so, that I have put together this website for him, free of charge, in the hope that it may stimulate one or two of you into going to his place when you visit Pokhara, either for paragliding, trekking or one of the many other activities available locally.
